In 2013, ABC aired "Lady Gaga & The Muppets' Holiday Spectacular," a one-night extravaganza that combined the talents of pop superstar Lady Gaga and the beloved puppets of Jim Henson's Muppet universe. The show was hosted by Gaga herself, who donned a variety of outlandish and festive costumes throughout the hour-long special, and featured a mix of musical performances, comedy sketches, and celebrity cameos, all with a holiday twist.

The special kicked off with a rousing rendition of "Baby It's Cold Outside," with Gaga trading verses with Muppet mainstay Kermit the Frog. The two were later joined by The Electric Mayhem (the Muppets' resident rock band) for a high-energy take on "Lady is a Tramp," which saw Kermit and Gaga sharing lead vocals.

One of the highlights of the show was undoubtedly the sketch in which Gaga visited the Muppet Workshop and designed her own puppet. The resulting creation was a blue-haired, purple-spotted creature that bore a striking resemblance to the singer herself. The puppet, which was named "Gaga Monster," popped up throughout the rest of the show, often eliciting laughs from the audience.

Other musical performances included Gaga's renditions of holiday classics like "Jingle Bells" and "Deck the Halls," as well as a few of her own hits, like "Applause" and "Venus." She also teamed up with The Muppets and Elton John for a joyous rendition of "Benny and the Jets," which had the entire cast and audience on their feet.

In between musical numbers, there were plenty of comedy sketches to keep the show moving. One bit involved Miss Piggy trying to get Gaga to model her new line of holiday-themed clothing, while another saw Gonzo attempting to fill in for Santa Claus in a pinch. There was also a segment in which the Swedish Chef cooked up some holiday treats, and another in which Statler and Waldorf heckled the performers from their balcony seats.

Throughout the show, there were also plenty of celebrity cameos from the likes of Tony Bennett, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Kristen Bell, among others. Each guest star seemed to be having just as much fun as Gaga and The Muppets themselves, and their enthusiasm was infectious.

The show closed with Gaga and The Muppets (along with a huge chorus) joining forces for a spirited version of "Do You Hear What I Hear?" The performance was filled with soaring harmonies and theatrical flourishes, ensuring that viewers were left feeling uplifted and full of holiday cheer.

Overall, "Lady Gaga & The Muppets' Holiday Spectacular" was a fun and festive special that blended the irreverent humor of The Muppets with the joyful pop stylings of Lady Gaga. The show had something for everyone, from classic holiday tunes to modern hits, and its plethora of celebrity cameos and lively banter made for a joyous and memorable viewing experience.
